Pasadena Veterans Day Ceremony to Feature Keynote by Decorated Military Leader Colonel Juan M. Mora
Pasadena’s Veterans Day ceremony will honor Colonel Juan M. Mora, Chief of Staff of the 40th Infantry Division, whose career embodies a lifetime of dedication to the U.S. Army. Commissioned as an Infantry Officer in 1997 after graduating from California State University, Fullerton, Colonel Mora began as a Rifle Platoon Leader with the 1-184th Infantry Battalion of the California Army National Guard. His subsequent assignments included leadership in the Wisconsin Army National Guard. With accolades such as the Legion of Merit Medal, Bronze Star Medal, and the Combat Infantry Badge, Colonel Mora’s service spans numerous honors and leadership roles. Currently, a Level III Joint Qualified Officer, his career reflects both valor and commitment, making him an exemplary figure for Pasadena’s Veterans Day tribute.

Pasadena voters showed strong support for city measures, with each passing by significant margins, including the measure to fund the renovation of the main library. Here are the results:

🇺🇸Pasadena Veterans Day Celebration: This Veterans Day, Pasadena will gather at City Hall’s Centennial Square to honor military veterans. The commemoration, hosted by the Pasadena Veterans Day Committee with support from Vietnam Veterans of America Ch. 446 and American Legion Post #13, features a 10:30 AM ceremony, WWII memorabilia, kids' activities, and a special Condor Squadron flyover at 11:11 AM.
🎵Music in the Rose Garden: In collaboration with the Pasadena Conservatory of Music, The Huntington presents Music in the Rose Garden performances featuring a rotating set of solo and duo performers on various instruments, including violin, cello, and guitar. Don’t miss the unique opportunity to wander through the breathtaking Rose Garden while listening to live music. 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM.
🎻Chamber Music Masterclass: Join acclaimed violinist Ryan Meehan for an exclusive master class, where he’ll share insights from his illustrious career with the Calidore String Quartet and performances at world-renowned venues like Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. Pasadena Veterans Day Closures
Pasadena City offices will be closed Monday, November 11, in observance of Veterans Day. Essential services from Pasadena Police, Fire, and Water & Power will remain available, though business offices will be closed. Trash and recycling pickups will follow the usual schedule, and all parks and public transit will operate as normal. Parking meters will be free on Veterans Day, with regular enforcement resuming Tuesday. Street cleaning is suspended.
City Council Meeting Cancelled
In observance of Veterans Day, today’s City Council meeting has been cancelled.
