THE DIGEST

Pasadena’s annual Cheeseburger Week is in full swing, showcasing the city’s innovative approach to a classic favorite. Local restaurants are unveiling creative burger specials that mix premium ingredients with unexpected twists. Chefs are pushing culinary boundaries by incorporating artisanal cheeses, house-made sauces, and distinctive toppings like truffle oil and specialty pickles. Exclusive deals, combo offers, and craft beer pairings add extra appeal to these limited-time creations. The festivities also include interactive social media contests and challenges that invite patrons to share their burger experiences. Organizers emphasize that the event is a celebration of both Pasadena’s vibrant dining scene and its close-knit community.

Environmental Testing Assessment

Pasadena officials have released environmental test results following the Eaton Fire. Tests at eight of nine city facilities revealed no detectable asbestos. All lead measurements were below the EPA’s Dust Lead Action Level of 5 micrograms per square foot. Mobile air monitoring conducted by the South Coast Air Quality Management District showed no elevated levels of heavy metals or benzene. Elevated methane levels detected in Altadena were promptly reported to utility agencies. Based on these promising results, the city has modified its temporary restrictions on power air (leaf) blowers. The revised policy now allows these blowers to be used outside the fire perimeter and at least 50 feet away from fire-damaged structures. Recent rainfall and cleanup efforts have also contributed to reduced dust levels in the community. Health officials continue to urge caution and recommend alternative cleaning methods such as gentle sweeping or HEPA vacuuming. The Pasadena Public Health Department is working closely with academic partners and various agencies to further monitor the situation.
