Rose Bowl to Host 2025 FIFA World Cup

Pasadena has to start figuring out a traffic management plan because the Rose Bowl Stadium has been selected as one of 12 venues to host matches for the 2025 FIFA World Cup.

Pasadena’s Rose Bowl joins a prestigious lineup of stadiums, with matches also taking place in New York, Atlanta, Miami, Seattle, and other cities. The final match will be held at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on July 13, 2025.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino called this event a “new era for club football,” as the tournament expands its global reach with a more inclusive, merit-based format. The Rose Bowl, already a historic site for soccer fans, having hosted matches for the 1994 FIFA World Cup and the 1999 FIFA Women’s World Cup final, will again be in the global spotlight.

Though the specific matches for Pasadena haven’t been confirmed, you can expect to see players and fans from all around the world hanging out on Colorado or Brookside golf course and everywhere in between. The tournament draw will take place in December, with the full match schedule to follow.

Pasadena is set to see a major economic boost, giving local businesses an opportunity for a big win alongside the World Cup excitement.

2025 Rose Court Finalists To Be Announced

Seven of the 28 finalists will be named to the 2025 Rose Court on today. Volunteer Members of the Tournament of Roses’ Queen & Court Committee will make their selections based on a number of criteria including academic achievement community and school involvement, public speaking ability and youth leadership. The Rose Court will ride down Colorado Blvd. in the 136th Rose Parade.

• 🌲Free Day at the Huntington: Spend a day at the Huntington Gardens. The first Thursday of every month is Free Day. Admission is free of charge with advance reservation.

• ✈️ Pilot Ground School at Caltech Flying Club: Begin your aviation journey with ground school at Caltech’s Flying Club. Classes will be held for 10 weeks, 7:00-9:30 PM, on Thursday nights, starting October 3rd.

• 🖼️Free Day at the Norton Simon Museum: free admission for all visitors on the first Friday of the month from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM.

• 🎭Tesla, A Radio Play for the Stage: Caltech’s Tesla: A Radio Play for the Stage explores Nikola Tesla’s life, his rivalries with Edison and Westinghouse, and the national security implications of his work. Performed as a radio drama with live sound effects, a small cast portrays nearly 50 characters. Showing Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. 8:00pm-10:00 PM.

• 🪅Latino Heritage Parade and Festival: Celebrate at the 26th Annual Latino Heritage Parade and Festival - Oct. 5! Join local schools, community groups, and neighbors as the parade kicks off at Los Robles Ave and ends at Pasadena City Hall. Enjoy the festival from 10 AM to 4 PM with food, music, and fun. With special guests and parade Grand Marshals NASA astronaut José M. Hernández and school teacher Martín Dorado!
