COMING SOON
I start my day with a cup of coffee and News N’ Roses, even though I write the newsletter. Pasadena has many great coffee shops and to make it even better, Saffron Cowboy Coffee is coming to town with the brand new Neighbors and Friends cafe!
Saffron Cowboy was started as a front yard coffee shop by Hannah Said. She wanted to give the DIY shop a name that blended her biracial identity – half Arab (Saffron) and half white (Cowboy). It has branched into community events with monthly pop-ups with other vendors (barbers, tattoo artists and bakers), dance parties, movie nights, dinners, and block parties, and more.
Saffron Cowboy is partnering with Neighbors and Friends Cafe and having their grand opening on November 1st. The cafe is located 88 E Union Street.

The Pasadena Unified School District’s Board of Education has placed Measures R and EE on the ballot for the November 5, 2024 Presidential Election. Measure EE, a parcel tax, is expected to raise around $5 million annually for eight years, providing the Pasadena Unified School District with the financial support to sustain key programs and services.
