Latin Heritage Parade and Festival

Join the celebration at Pasadena’s 26th Annual Latino Heritage Parade and Festival tomorrow! The parade will feature local schools, community groups, and neighbors, starting at Los Robles Ave and concluding at Pasadena City Hall. From 10 AM to 4 PM, enjoy the festival's vibrant food, music, and activities. Special guests include NASA astronaut José M. Hernández and school teacher Martín Dorado, who will serve as the parade’s Grand Marshals!

Carnegie Opens it’s Doors

🔭 Carnegie Observatory was founded in 1904 by George Ellery Hale who famously build the biggest telescope in the world; not once, not twice, but FOUR times! Named after the rich guy who funded it, Andrew Carnegie made his wealth in steel and had a soft spot for astronomy. It's no surprise that space and astronomy are woven into Pasadena's culture—I've even started calling it ‘NASAdena’.
The observatory will hold an open house on October 13th, where visitors can tour the grounds, talk to professional astronomers, and even get a space-themed gift.

Dog Lovers, We Need You

The Humane Society's dog kennels are almost completely full and are in need of urgent need of dog fosters. By fostering, you are providing a loving, temporary home for a shelter dog while opening up kennel space for an animal in need of immediate care. Adoption fees are WAIVED for all dogs six months of age or older through October 12th. Please email [email protected] as soon as possible if you are able to foster.

🎭Tesla, A Radio Play for the Stage: Caltech’s Tesla: A Radio Play for the Stage explores Nikola Tesla’s life, his rivalries with Edison and Westinghouse, and the national security implications of his work. Performed as a radio drama with live sound effects, a small cast portrays nearly 50 characters. Showing Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. 8:00pm-10:00 PM.

🪅Latino Heritage Parade and Festival: Celebrate at the 26th Annual Latino Heritage Parade and Festival - Oct. 5! 🚶🏽Neighborhoods, Bridges and Parks, Oh My!: Enjoy a four-mile loop that will take us over, under and around the historic Colorado Street Bridge. Oct. 6, 3-5 PM.
🚶🏽Hidden Secrets of Old Pasadena: Step off the beaten path and uncover the enchanting stories of Old Pasadena! This is a two-hour tour. Oct. 6, 10 AM - 12 PM.
🌻Starry Night Sunflower: Sit under the stars and smell the sunflowers with this art night at Pinot's Palette. Oct. 6, 4-6 PM.

The Pasadena Public Health Department urges residents to take precautions to prevent coyote encounters and protect themselves and their pets. Coyotes are common in city neighborhoods and live alongside Pasadena’s natural resources, homes, and businesses.
