THE DIGEST 🎄

Rose Parade Overnight Camping

Overnight camping for Pasadena’s iconic Rose Parade kicks off at noon on December 31, giving fans the chance to secure the best viewing spots along the route. To save your spot, arrive early and set up chairs, blankets, or low-profile seating, keeping your area within three feet of the curb to ensure pedestrian access. Remember to stay with your belongings—unattended items may be removed. Open flames, fireworks, and drones are prohibited, but UL-approved propane heaters are allowed for warmth. Large structures like tents and pets should be left at home. Dress warmly, bring snacks, and dispose of trash properly to enjoy this cherished New Year’s tradition. For full details, visit the City of Pasadena website.

Rose Bowl Teams Set to Arrive in LA

The countdown to the 110th Rose Bowl Game is officially underway, with both competing teams scheduled to arrive in Los Angeles on Sunday, December 31. The annual game will take place on January 1, 2024, at the iconic Rose Bowl Stadium, kicking off at 1 p.m. The teams, The Ohio State Buckeyes and Oregon Ducks, will participate in a packed week of events leading up to the highly anticipated matchup. Each team will take part in practice sessions at designated training facilities, with access provided to members of the press on select days. The week will also feature the traditional Lawry’s Beef Bowl, where players enjoy a signature meal at the historic Beverly Hills steakhouse, as well as a visit to Disneyland, where the teams will be celebrated in a special ceremony. The Rose Bowl Game has long been one of the most iconic sporting events in the nation, blending athletic excellence with the picturesque setting of the Arroyo Seco.

The City of Pasadena will suspend the overnight parking restriction from the night of December 23rd through the morning of January 3rd. During this time, you will not need a permit to park overnight on the street. All other parking restrictions will be enforced. Enforcement of the overnight parking restriction will resume on the morning of January 4th.
