THE DIGEST

Pasadena Election Results

Politics can be boring and stressful, so here’s a quick summary of Pasadena’s recent election results—six ballot measures have been approved so far! The Pasadena Central Library is set to receive funding to become earthquake-safe, which means it may open sooner than expected, though it could still take years. New charter amendments bring term limits for the mayor and council members. We've also ensured continued fire and police representation on the city's retirement board. A rent control measure was passed, aligning definitions for seniors and disabled residents with state law and updating eviction rules. Some votes are still being counted, including a measure for increased funding for STEAM classes, career training, and improved wages for teachers. All in all, Pasadena remains a great place to live!
