THE DIGEST

Pacific Storm to Bring Heavy Rain and Wind to Pasadena

A fast-moving Pacific storm is expected to hit Pasadena and the greater L.A. area starting tonight, bringing 1–2 inches of rain, gusty winds, and possible thunderstorms or flooding, according to city and National Weather Service officials.

The heaviest rain is expected between Monday night and Tuesday evening, with a chance of hail and isolated waterspouts.

Pasadena crews are installing K-rails and monitoring Eaton Fire burn scar areas to prevent mud and debris flows. Residents are urged to prepare early, keep a go bag ready, and sign up for Pasadena’s emergency alert system (PLEAS).

Sand and sandbags are available at Fire Stations 37 (E. Foothill Blvd.) and 38 (Linda Vista Ave.), with a 10-bag limit per household. Conditions should improve by Wednesday night with warmer weather into the weekend.

Chappell Roan Brings a Pop Spectacle to Pasadena

Chappell Roan turned Brookside Park into her own glittering kingdom Friday night, opening her two-night Pasadena run with a massive, fairy tale–themed show that drew roughly 40,000 fans.

The night felt more like a festival than a concert, with food trucks, drag performances and fans dressed in sequins and “Pink Pony Club” looks. Roan powered through songs from The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, along with new releases and a fiery cover of Heart’s “Barracuda.”

Between songs, she mixed humor and heart—calling out crowd members, sharing how she once lived in Altadena, and thanking L.A. for taking care of her during tough years.

The show closed on a high with thousands belting out “Pink Pony Club,” a joyful end to a night that proved why Roan’s become one of pop’s most magnetic performers.
