THE DIGEST
Pride at Pasadena City Hall: A Celebration of Unity and Inclusion
On Saturday, June 21, about 400 people gathered at Pasadena City Hall to celebrate Pride with community booths, live music, and a vibrant drag show featuring both queens and a king. Mayor Victor Gordo reaffirmed Pasadena’s commitment to welcoming diversity while standing firm against division. The event was peaceful, inclusive, and full of color—a reminder that in Pasadena, everyone has a place.
🍽️ Pasadena’s Dine Out Streetfest Served Up Flavor and Fun
Union Street turned into a foodie paradise during the Dine Out Pasadena Streetfest, with crowds strolling between sun-soaked patios, sipping cocktails, and enjoying everything from sizzling Korean BBQ and fresh sushi to truffle pasta and Peruvian comfort food.
Eleven local restaurants debuted their newly upgraded outdoor spaces—thanks to a $1.5M federal grant—while live music and community booths kept the energy high. Pasadena showed once again that when it comes to food and fun, it really knows how to put on a show.
🏢 Volunteers Hit the Streets to Help Fire-Displaced Businesses
This week, 14 volunteer teams with the Altadena Chamber’s “Back in Business” program are canvassing Pasadena’s commercial corridors to help small businesses and nonprofits displaced by the Eaton Fire find new locations. From June 22–29, they’ll walk Fair Oaks, Lincoln, Lake, and Washington, identifying underused spaces and offering hands-on support.
Led by Pasadena Planning Commissioner Julianna Delgado, the grassroots effort has already reached over 200 businesses, connecting them with relocation help, permitting guidance, and funding resources. It's all about bringing businesses—and community—back.
