PCC Holds First Major Day of Mourning
Yesterday, Pasadena City College marked an important milestone with its first observance of the National Day of Mourning. The event offered a powerful space to reflect on Indigenous perspectives of Thanksgiving, highlighting the complex history often overlooked during the holiday. Attendees came together to listen, learn, and honor the resilience of Native communities, recognizing the impact of historical injustices while fostering a deeper understanding of their ongoing legacies.
Through meaningful dialogue and shared reflection, the gathering encouraged a broader appreciation of the stories that shape our shared history. It was more than an event—it was a heartfelt reminder of the importance of acknowledging diverse perspectives and amplifying Indigenous voices, ensuring their stories are heard and respected.
