THE DIGEST

Pasadena to Launch Coyote Assessments

Have you been spotting coyotes in Pasadena more frequently these days? Coyote sightings are becoming more common these days and it’s becoming a problemenough of a problem that the City of Pasadena has issued various warnings to safeguard residents and their pets.
Starting this November, Pasadena will conduct coyote assessments to study coyote behavior and population. The Pasadena Public Health Department has partnered with Humane Wildlife Control Inc. to use cameras and in-person surveys in areas with high coyote complaints. Residents will be notified in advance, and cameras will be placed in public spaces, avoiding private areas. The footage will help create reports with recommendations to reduce human-coyote conflicts.

Trader Joes Grand Opening Today

Trader Joe’s is will have its grand opening of its second South Pasadena location at 1129 Fair Oaks Avenue on Monday, October 21, 2024, at 9 a.m. This newly remodeled 13,866-square-foot store, previously a Vons supermarket, has been eagerly anticipated by the community. Join in the ribbon-cutting ceremony at 8:55 a.m. to kick off the celebration, which will feature live music, giveaways, and plenty of excitement. The new store will ease crowding at the original Mission Street location while continuing to offer the unique products and welcoming atmosphere that Trader Joe’s is known for.

Dodgers Head to World Series!

Not Pasadena but worth mentioning: the Los Angeles Dodgers are heading to the World Series to face the New York Yankees! The Dodgers defeated their rivals, the NY Mets in game 6 of the National League championship series. Game 1 of the World Series will be on Friday, October 25th at Dodger Stadium.
